But if you are interested, you can read on.
I’ve worked a few jobs in a few different industries over the years, Tech, Music, Journalism, Television, and have worn many hats within each industry (sometimes, all at once). All of them have served a purpose for me. I think that exploring the many facets of these industries has only made me better in what I do today because, at the end of it all, it’s all connected. Art is art and technology is...everywhere. So it comes in handy that I learned a little computer science in college but it also helps that I understand the music business and the business of entertainment in general. Being well rounded and knowledgeable in various disciplines has served me well. But I’m always learning something new. Marketng, particularly in Social Media has been an area I’ve grown in over the years as well.
I started this in order to explore all different outlets of media & communication. There is too much to do, see, feel and hear in this world to confine yourself to one type of media. While I've always been interested in all forms of communication, music is at the very center of everything I do. Being a former music journalist and life long music fan of all genres, I do believe that it is the beat that keeps us moving. If it be the beat in your heart or the one pumping from the speakers, don't ignore it.
While freelancing in the journalism world, I found that most small publications couldn't send a photographer to the events I was covering. So I picked up a camera and started shooting. I've been hooked ever since. (I went digital last year so hopefully, you'll see a better portfolio coming soon.) As the Internet Boom imploded in the late 90's, so did all of my paying gigs. I eventually ended up in Los Angeles working at my first TV Production Job. In 2003, after 3 years in LA, I felt I needed something more. It wasn't where I was supposed to be at this point in my life and I had always been drawn to New York. So I came to NY to rekindle my love of writing, music and photography as well as continue in my TV career.
Now it's 2010. I've found a way to do all the things I love. It's a lot of hard work and a lot of long hours, but it's the most satisfying work I've ever done. But it just goes to show, the harder you work, the luckier you get.
A special thanks to all those who helped along the way and to those who are here today paving the road to our future.
